Hello and welcome to class. My name is Miss.Tokarsky (Miss.T) and I will be teaching Biology, Lab Biology, and Anatomy and Physiology (Advanced Biology) for the 2016-17 school year.
Although I am relatively new to Beaver Falls, I have lived in the Pittsburgh area my entire life. After graduating high school, I spent one year in Philadelphia at the University of the Sciences and then transferred to Robert Morris University (RMU). I graduated from RMU in 2011 with a B.S. in Environmental Science and a teaching certificates in Biology. While I subbed for 6 months I studied for and earned another teaching certificate in Chemistry. I am currently working towards a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction at Point Park University.
From my experiences both as a student and a teacher, I have come to realize that teaching is a two way street. Not only can my students learn from me, but I can learn from them. I teach my students not just content, but to think and to take ownership for their ideas and decisions. In return, my students teach me how to be a better teacher. The courses I teach are challenging, but if you are invested in your own learning and in your own future, you will be ready to face the challenge.
